Addie & Angus

When you're not looking...

If I'm working upstairs, Angus will quietly sneek up on the chair. He didn't care who saw him this morning because he didn't jump off when he heard me coming.

Another Nap

Angus barely fits up there, but he contorts and hangs a leg down for a little snooze.

Best of Friends

They rarely nap so close together. I guess this was a special occasion. She grooms him too so he doesn't look like a slob.

Got Snow?

You should see her paws.

A Winter Stick

I don't know what it is with sticks, but she loves chewing them.

Birthday Girl

Addie is two today. She got a swell new pink collar to mark her entrance into adultdoghood. Otherwise, it's just another day to hang out sleeping on the bed.

Guarding the Favorite Toy

This is the toy Angus carries around most. He's 11 months old, and I don't think he's grown in a couple months. He must be about 73 pounds.

Portrait

Addie & Angus finally both cooperated at the same time and sat still for a minute so I could get a more formal shot of them. For some reason it reminds me of Ryan and Tatum O'Neal in "Paper Moon", one of my favorite films. Coincidentally, Addie is named after Tatum's character in that movie, Addie Pray.

Tatum & Ryan

Any resemblance? I had to include this so you could see what I was talking about. Maybe it's just me. Perhaps Angus should have been named Mose?

A Better Likeness

This is closer to what I was picturing. Of course, you can watch the movie and you'll see what I mean. Addie, the dog or the girl, is the brighter of the two, and the better con artist.

How About Closer Up?

OK, now you can compare even better. I think it's obvious what I was thinking. No?

Me Myself & Eye

Ferocious jungle beast or just Addie? Can you ever be too close to your pet?

A Quick Pose

Angus knows he's not allowed on the bed. But when he looks this darn content, how could I do anything but snap a shot. Addie took a moment from looking out the window to wonder what I was doing not making him get off the bed.

Camouflage?

Did he think he blended in with the blankets so well that I wouldn't notice him?

Fluffed and Buffed

Post-visit to the Groom 'N Go (on Liberty). I highly recommend them for pet care. Addie gets hand stripped, meaning her hair literally is pulled out. This keeps her coat wiry. And they say she doesn't mind.

Tired?

You'd think Angus sleeps a lot, but it's one of the only times you can snap his picture. He's six months old and still growing.

Who Needs A Bath?

This is pre-grooming. She's too focused on the bone to care about her appearance.

Bright Lights

I think the flash was a little too bright for Angus. He has to get used to having his picture taken.

Angus Growed Up Fast

At 5 months, he's about 50 pounds. Yikes.

Puppy Close Up

Sometimes he wants to get as close as possible. Everything is a game. I suppose that's just the way it should be. The dog's life.

Stick Tug-of-War

So many sticks in the yard, and they both want this one.

Dirty Paws

Luckily he cleans up easily.
10 weeks old.

Addie - In the Garden

A little shaggy and dazed by the new puppy, Addie stops to pose for the camera.

Angus - 7 weeks

Angus arrived on July 16, 2004 from a breeder in Portland, Oregon. He was 7 weeks old.

Angus Naps

Addie Naps - 8 months

In Motion As Usual

Still a puppy.

Who's Drinking My Water?

The food is always better in somebody else's bowl.

A Favorite Spot

Addie - 6 Months

Addie came from a breeder in Tecumseh, MI. She was 4 months old when she arrived.

Dog As Art

I think this is the most artful photo I've taken of Addie. She posed herself, and I just captured it. I call this "Dog and Mann" because the photo at the top is by artist Sally Mann.
